World's Best Apple Pie Recipe Ever

This is the best apple pie of all time. If you don't like it, I probably hate you.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2/3 cup lard (or crisco if you suck)
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 10 tbsp COLD water

Pie

  • lots of apples, half tart apples like granny smith
  • 1.5 cups of sugar
  • 5 tbsp flour
  • good cinnamon
  • 2-3 tbsp butter

Preparation

Crust

  • Slice lard into flour using pastry cutter or knives or something. Normal pie crust procedure.
  • Add in the salt and water, mix it together but try not to mix too much.

Pie

  • Fill the crust full of apples until level.
  • Sprinkle with 3/4 cup sugar, 1 tbsp cinnamon, and then 2-3 tbsp flour.
  • Fill the crust with more apples until it's heaping well over the top of the side.
  • Sprinkle with 3/4 cup sugar, 1 tbsp cinnamon, and then 2-3 tbsp flour.
  • Chop up 4-5 tbsp of butter into little pieces and dot them over the top or shove between apple slices.
  • Add the crust to the top, cut some slits to vent.
  • Bake for 425F for 15 minutes, then lower the heat to 350 and bake for an hour.


Notes

  • This pie will bubble over, so you should make sure to put a cookie sheet on the rack below, and cover that sheet with foil for easier cleaning.
